SPONSOR QUESTIONS Empty SPONSOR QUESTIONS

Post by David Brister Sat Mar 26, 2016 12:21 pm

im at 30% of the negotiation with my sponsor, i had to answer the question of where i will put his sign on the car, but now he want to know where i expect to end up at the end of the season.

i picked mid table.

didnt think i would win the championship or finish in top 4 and be promoted, so i chose a safe option, didnt think i would be bottom of the pack since we only got 14 active drivers out of the 35 driver field.

was that a good choice?

GTP only had 2 bars in the expectation section

Isn't it where you think you'll finish _next_ season? In any case, I think the deal is you match the answer to the sponsor's want. So 'expectations' is what the sponsor wants to match up to with your answer.
BTW, 'win the championship' means win elite I think, so don't pick that yet Smile

Mid table might be a little higher than what they would want but It's certainly not going to hurt your chances of picking them up.

If you had of gone with the promotion the sponsor may have pulled out.

For those guys relegate with cash or low table position would have been the better answer.

To continue the negotiations with your team GTP has requested an answer to the following question:
How popular is your driver with the fans?

My driver is a favourite of the fans
My driver is quite popular with the fans
My driver is liked by the fans
My driver is not very popular with the fans
My driver is hated by the fans

How do i know the answer to this question?

That's based on the image of your sponsor
look at it in terms of how many bars they have in their image spot.

assume 1 bar = hated
assume 7 bars = favourite

you need to cater to your sponsor. If you tell them what they want to hear = hated
you have a better chance of maximising their money and contract length they offer.

Tell them what they don't want to hear and it will do the opposite.

My sponsor finally made an offer of $200K per race, as he is almost a full finance bar, only missing 1 , i said it was a bit low, is that a good move or bad? and now there is another manager doing negotiations with them, does that effect me in any way?

My sponsor offered $559k per race and I said it was way too low. Still made progress after last race. Only 2 races left before current sponsor runs out. Hoping at the most its only 1-2 races between no sponsor and new one.

Having someone else negotiate with a sponsor won't directly affect your progress.
However, If they are winning races or have their negotiating priority higher than yours. They could overtake you in the progress and sign the sponsor first.

I do believe that once you get past the final question *contract duration* you're pretty much safe in getting that sponsor.

The colour of your sponsor indicates where you're at in terms of other peoples progress.
Green = you are the only manager negotiating
Yellow = There are other managers negotiating as well
Red = you are behind in the progress compared to other managers.

bruce, it all depends on what level your commercial facility is at, and also your driver.

my suggestion would be to leave the highest one at very high, and put the second one on low/very low, also purchase the highest level commercial facility you can

Investing in facilities in rookie ( and the first couple seasons in amateur) is a MASSIVE waste of cash. You don't need them to survive, and the effect of investing in these resources is extremely minimal at this stage. I would advise putting them back to zero investment ASAP.

I would focus on one sponsor only up until 75%, as negotiating with two sponsors at once will halve the speed of the negotiation process.

interesting harry, because i was under the impression, the higher the levels, especially commercial, the quicker the negotiation process takes

No doubt about that Shane, but the point I was trying to make is that in rookie and the early season or two of amateur the focus should be saving as much $$$ as possible as this cash will be needed to survive in amateur (by improving car part levels and running higher CT in an attempt to avoid relegation).

The $$$$ investment in the lower levels of facilities far outweighs any benefits that are returned.

The time to start investing in commercial and pitstop centre is when you feel comfortable about being able to avoid relegation in amateur.
